Chris Scheldrup

Chris Scheldrup is the current President of the Board of Directors for Scheldrup Wiltfang Corridorlaw. Chris’ professional focus is on defending self-insured employers and insurance companies throughout the state of Iowa and Arizona.

Chris is frequently asked to present on workers’ compensation, professional negligence and employment law related matters. He has presented more than 300 times to professional industry groups in Iowa, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Indiana, Nevada, Arizona and Texas. He has lectured to gatherings of occupational and orthopedic doctors, insurance brokers, insurance claims representatives, safety managers, workers’ compensation coordinators and attorneys. Chris has also taught advanced trial tactics and deposition skills to attorney groups, including at the University of Iowa Law School and Drake University Law School. In starting Corridorlaw, Chris remains devoted to reshaping the legal landscape by delivering legal services with innovation and efficiency, always with the goal of providing “value added” benefits to clients.

Chris founded Scheldrup Blades n/k/a Smith, Mills & Schrock Law in 2002 and served as the President of the Board of Directors for the first 13 years of the firm where he instilled his vision of growth and innovation in the firm. At one time, the firm consisted of 18 attorneys (63 employees total) with offices in Cedar Rapids, West Des Moines, Omaha and Phoenix. He served as co-chair of the firm’s workers’ compensation practice group throughout the time he practiced with the firm. In addition to workers’ compensation, the firm’s multi-state platform also focused in the areas of employment law defense, nursing home litigation, defendant law and trucking-related litigation.
